The theme for Horseshoe Gallery’s inaugural group show was ‘Spirit of the Stable: forces that bind us, drive us and protect us.’ It seemed like a perfect opportunity to exhibit Gulaga’s Crosses - my first ever etching created at Megalo Print Studio under the expert guidance of Max Gosling.

Gulaga’s Crosses is a sketch of a detail of a 4x5 photographic negative processed with ocean water. There is just something about those salt crosses. Shapes with presence.
