Despite being summer, the days are cool and overcast. The numbing throb of cicadas harmonises with the drone of the ocean, pierced only by the eerie call of the black cockatoos.

On NYE we set intentions over mezcal and swim in the ocean at 4am under a red glowing sky. On the first day of the new year we emerge in the early afternoon to find the wonky bathroom door has corrected itself overnight in the house that is always shifting.
